Thought I would put up some pics of the latest iteration. This is the Sporter version. One of the members here has a Criterion SS 26" barrel in varmint contour I want when money settles down for use at serious long range. I had to find a stopping point with this rifle, I've made so many changes even OCD was overwhelmed. Anyway, here are the specs:

Model 110 (2005) G s/n with hardwood stock. Took to bare wood after all, one coat of Chestnut Red dye followed by three coats of light Walnut dye, three coats of hand rubbed satin poly finish. Will true-oil eventually with armour all. Checkering done in Ebony dye..bee's wax coated
24" sporter barrel
Harrells Precision Tactical Brake (not turned yet into barrel)
Brako Mecury recoil dampner imbedded in the butt stock
Custom tuned trigger spring set at 1.4lbs, breaks clean, is absoloutely safe ( have an original 2-4lb spring) accutrigger
Rifle center of ballance is spot on at 1/2" forward of the trigger guard.
SS 0.250" recoil lug mated to SS barrel nut and faced to reciever.
Pillar and lug bedded
Explore Optics 10-40x50 with sunshade and caps (awesome scope). Exit pupil is good, eye relief could be a bit better but it tracks like a champ and will reach out and see the whites of the eyeballs at 1k easily.
Weaver Tactical Rings
EGW Picitanny Rail (modified for front bell)
SS trigger guard, nickel swivel studs
Hornady stock pack...of the four packs I own, the Hornady is head and shoulders above the rest, even the Triad. Rock solid cheek weld.
BLACKHAWK! Sportster Bipod
Limbsaver recoil pad #10601
Quake Claw Sling

It isn't a Fred Pryor timing job but I did a pretty fair imitation. Recoil is virtually non-exsistant, instant follow up, no barrel climb. Doing load work ups soonest.....light for varmint and pronghorn and heavy for distance. It is a joy to shoot. I made up some Nosler Partition 150's with I4350 to take out and plink. So far, it has surpassed even my most optomistic expectations. I hit a clay at 500 yds on the 2nd shot after a zero at 300yds MPD using hold over only. I'll post some targets when I shoot some paper or steel. Haven't weighed it yet, guessing around 10-11lbs, not bad.

No beauty queen, traditional looks, serious fun. And to think, all I was going to do was clean up the stock (it was bad) when I got it and use for long range coyote.

Nice Rig... I love the 7RemMag. Great cartridge. I have one in a TC-83 Aristocrat with double set triggers. It's so pretty I can't hardly bare to take it out of the safe. One day though I hope to shoot a moose with it. That's what I bought it for so many years ago. One day maybe...

Wonder why I like your 7mm Magnum so much? Recipe: Take one Savage 110 Flat Rear receiver, put in one EGW rail and add one stainless Criterion 26" Heavy Hunter barrel. For garnish add a Harrells Radial brake and a Sims Limbsaver pre-fit recoil pad. Does it taste good? Don't know but it shoots great!

Had an extended "senior moment" and almost sold this barrel....shot it a bit and decided that that was not a really good idea. 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tip with 69.5gr of H4831 produces three shot groups in the 3's or 4's....moving at 3300fps and set at 1.5" high at 100 it is still moving at 1700fps at 1000 and is -206"....course I live at 7000'....that do help a bit!

It is a good recipe...also used Hybrid 100 with the 140gr Berger. You know the story....sloooow powders with the 7 mag and that is true to some extent but when you look at a lot of reloading manuals their most accurate loads with a lot of bullet weights, expecially 140-150 are usually not with the Retumbo speed powders but with 4350, RL19k, H4831 etc. Go figure huh?
