Does anyone know where / how I can get a spare Bolt Assy Screw for a Model 12 F?

Savage apparently won't sell it to anyone but a gunsmith, according to their website. That seems extreme to me, since disassembling a bolt or replacing the BAS shouldn't be restricted to gunsmiths, but anyway.

I'm shortening mine for a bearing and want to have a spare in case I want to go back (or sell gun).

Does anyone know where I can get one, stainless, part # 102522 ?

Thanks for any help.

Some people have had luck ordering such parts from Savage by signing some sort of waiver...if you search the threads on here it's been discussed many times before....of course you could always get your local smith to order it for you....

This does not answer your question, but instead of shortening the BAS, you could make a washer/spacer the appropriate thickness which would move the BAS back the same amount as the thickness of your bearing.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the guidance.

I'd take thomae's advice and add a spacer rather than altering the BAS.
