Crowning tool??

I am taking possession of a new Stevens .308 with sporter weight barrel. I will be cutting the barrel to 20" to build it into a light tactical/hunting rifle. Does anyone have a guided crown cutting tool they will rent to me??

If not this route, can anyone guide me to a good smith that can do the cut and crown for a reasonable price?? Thanks in advance for your help in this matter!!

I usually charge $40 to cut and recrown and that will get you what ever crown you want. I don't think a crown tool can do what a lathe can.

That seems like a pretty good price considering you are talking about using a lathe.
