ooking for feedback on the Talley quick-detach rings.

Is anyone running these on a rifle? I just bought a new scope and need to change rings because it's a 30mm and my current setup is a 1", so I'm considering a quick-detach option.

I'm currently running basic nikon rings with a pro-staff 3-9x40 mounted directly onto the action. I know I'm going to gain a little weight increase by adding a rail, and a little more with the detachable rings over basic Talley lightweights. I spent some serious coin (for me) on the new scope though - Bushnell 6500 Elite - and would like to use it on both my 308 hunting rifle and my ar15... so the versatility of the detachable rings might outweigh the costs in ounces.

The hunting would mostly be for black bear and mule deer - backcountry backpack hunting. Then varmint/coyote with the AR. Will the detach rings hold a zero for rugged terrain hunting?

Also interested in feedback on other detachable rings.

Thanks!

do you have open sites? if not, why do you want quick detach rings?

To switch my scope between two rifles... So I don't have to buy two scopes.

I don't have a set, but a buddy does. He pulls his off his rifle and back on again and minimal to zero change in POI to POA.

As long as both rails on both guns align the same so you don't have to move one ring fore or aft you should be good to go.
