So far, I'm in love with this thing. I'm still working up loads for it, but so far it has been unbelievable for a stock factory rifle. The trigger breaks cleanly at 14 oz! I'm impressed.

Now I just need to skip the caffeine before going to the range. :(

LOL, I just received my 260 barrel. Stay in touch and let us know what load works for you. I hear their great rifles, I guess were both will find out.

I've done quite a few load tests over the summer, but nothing blew my mind until today. I tuned my action screw torque (http://www.accurateshooter.com/technical-articles/savage-action-screw-torque-tuning/) a few weeks ago, which helped. Then in this morning's OCW tests I found what I consider to be a home run.

Sorta answers the question of do factory barrels shoot? Looks like they can when your willing to do some leg work.

Very nice!

+1!
Still to this day: the majority of people I encounter do not believe factory guns can shoot 1/2" lat alone what they are really capable of.
Nobody I know that doesn't own a savage and half the ones that do will even believe it till they see for themselves.

do you measure off the Ogive? if so what is that measurement if not what is your COL?

I don't measure off the ogive for anything. I do check my COL for each bullet using a Hornady OAL gauge and modified case.

My COL is 2.870" which is my max magazine length, and with this bullet/brass/chamber combo it's also just about against the lands.
