I have a 112flvss 7mm rem mag that was built in 2001. It has a fluted stainless 26" bull barrel, any idea what the twist was on this OEM barrel?

If it is a factory offering it would be stamped on it, that being said, I have never heard of a fluted bull barrel, even in they aftermarket, there might be a chance that there is some info on the barrel at they end that screws into the receiver, in any case that's a new one for me.

If it is a factory barrel it would be a 26" SS Fluted Varmint contour. Savage still uses that same type of barrel on the 12 VLP models. IIRC Savage uses a 1:9.5" twist rate for their 7mm Rem Mags.

Not to contradict Dean, but the only Savage Factory barrels I have run into that have the twist rate stamped on them are the special offerings like the 1:7" 223 barrels and the 1:9" 22-250 barrels for example.

Is it stamped savage on the barrel anywhere at all,

Doh, misunderstood. I was thinking you meant the twist rate would be stamped on it. Yes you are correct, if its factory it would have "Savage" stamped someplace on it.
