Purchased a 26" varmint contour Criterion from Jim at Northland to replace the factory barrel on my .308 FCPK and could not be happier. My groups have shrunk significantly since the replacement. Also purchased a new recoil lug, barrel nut and Rifle Basix 1 that I installed as well.
Best group to date is a 5 shot .25".

So impressed am I with that one I just ordered another one (26", varmint) for my new to me Model111 .300 Winmag. Hoping for same results.

It looks like you are doing a great job with your load development on the 308. I wish you the same luck on the 300 WM.

What twist did you go with on the 308 barrel?

I have had a lot of success with 45 grains of varget using the 155 scenar L's in my development. Have them snugged up against the lands and pushing just above 2800 feet per second.the barrel twist is 1in 10. The same for the 300 win mag. Thanks Bean.

Thank you sir. This is my first aftermarket barrel and after my research on performance and price this is what I ended up with. I'm sure the other brands out there are performers as well, but this is the one I ended up with and am hooked. I look forward to installing my .300 WinMag barrel and see what I can glean from that one. I'll have to take a trip over to the reloading forum to see what I can learn on belted magnum reloading.

BTW Shooting 1K this Saturday. I'll let you know the results.
