Hey Guys, first time poster here. I just picked up a donor 111 Long Action in .30-06 with plans on building a .375 Ruger. Any thoughts on where to find an affordable barrel? I would like to keep the cost at a decent level on this build. Also, anybody who's done this build, any tips/tricks or general advice?
Thanks!

Well first off, a 7RM or a 300WM would have made better donors, but don't worry you can get there from here. First you will need to swap out your 30-06 Bolt head and Magazine for ones from a 7RM or 300WM to work with the 375.

As to a barrel I would contact Apache Gunworks (http://www.apachegunworks.com), Sin-Arms (http://www.sin-arms.com/), and/or Northland (http://www.northlandshooterssupply.com/) and see what they can do for you. Jim at Apache Gunworks makes some great barrels at reasonable prices, my last 3 barrels have been made by Jim. Devin at Sin-Arms is a great guy to work with also and does great work. And Jim Briggs at Northland sell some of the best "big name" prefits around, see if he can get you what you want in a CBI barrel. CBI (Criterion) make some great barrels, I have one in 6BR and a couple of my buddies have them in 243AI and all are shooters and clean up well.

Any one of those three guys should be able to get you a great barrel. You may also wanna check with Dennis at McGowan Barrel Outlet (they have a link here someplace) and see what they can do. I have not bought a barrel from them yet, but they have a good reputation going around here so far.

I have had a couple but just switched to a 9.3x62 but mostly because of the case head size and I am running it on a Mauser.

You might luck out and find a barrel here or on gunbroker etc. I bought one here a while back but like a dummy sold it. That was a 22" blued barrel.
Just sold a 24" SS large shank barrel about 1.5 months ago.

You are probably going to have to have a barrel made unless you want to wait.
You actually might be better off going on Buds and buying an entire rifle but to me its just not a proper dangerous game rifle unless its control feed, but thats just me.
I ran mine on an early control feed Savage action.

BTW great round and the recoil is not bad at all.
