Plenty thick on the Prairie Hunter, cannot speak for his other stocks. The HH has a medium contour barrel.

Ok, I'm trying to drop one of these inyo a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock and am having issues. I get it installed, but when I close the bolt, the trigger won't move. If I loosen the action screw, it eventually (within five shots) work it's way out of the screw hole. What the hell is going on? Yes, I have the right stock because I already got the wrong one and had to get it replaced. I'd really appreciate some help with this. It's driving me nuts.

Was your rifle a Hog hunter or a different model? The trigger is hitting some part of the inlet. Leave the trigger guard off and try to operate the bolt. now look from underneath and see where it is hitting. Look at the front and rear of the trigger up in the inlet.

Txhillbilly, which Boyds stock did u use? I just one for my Axis II and love it. Boyds said they do not make one for the hog hunter. I assume you did some fitting work to it? Thx.

Robinhood, it's a hog hunter. I may have solved the problem. The back action screw was a little bit too tight. Probably not a permenant fix though. Will try at the range this weekend.

I put it in an Accustock and that's an aac mount for a sdn-6.
I'd like to do exactly the same thing. Was it difficult to install the Accustock on the Hog Hunter?
Thanks.

What stock is that and did you have to do any special fitting?

Zoomanderson

So far no special fitting, but there is supposed to be a notch down in the stock here the internal magazine is supposed to go that isn't there. May have to break out the Dremmel if it becomes a problem.

And it's a Bell and Carlson medalist stock.

Would it be the #2999 Savage Model 10, Heavy Barrel, with or without Accu-Trigger, Short Action Only? Midway seems to show it as 299797 (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1103110075/bell-and-carlson-medalist-varmint-tactical-rifle-stock-savage-10-series-short-action-blind-magazine-center-feed-with-44-spacing-varmint-barrel-channel-synthetic). What finish is that called, and are all those black lines raised?

I know nothing about aftermarket stocks, but am starting to look at them for my Hog Hunter, tho replacing the stock is last on the list of to do’s. I’ve not heard of Bell and Carlson before, and that’s a nice looking stock.

Might as well post a photo since that’s what this thread is about. Only had it for two weeks. Have about 50 rounds thru it. First thing to be done is either a muzzle brake or one of those mercury recoil devices. Then a scope, then possibly a stock. I do like the looks of that Bell and Carlson stock.

It's a 2997 - I just picked one up in a different color for my Hog Hunter. Sadly it's going back since the wrist angle doesn't work with my arthritis, but it's a top quality stock.
