I need a new stock for my Stevens 322a .22 hornet. Boyd's lists stocks for the 340 series but includes a disclaimer that the .22 hornet action will not fit without modification. Does anybody know what mods are needed to fit the .22 hornet action to a 340 stock? What Savage model is the 322a most compatible with as far as the Boyd's stocks are concerned?

I bought a Boyd laminated thumbhole stock for my 340E in .22 Hornet. Very little additional inletting had to be done. Not having the proper tools I let my local gunsmith inlet it.

Can you post pictures? I'd like to see the end result.

My rifle is at gunsmith now being bedded. As soon as I get it back I'll post.

Good to go. I've been sending emails to one of the reps at Boyds about modding a 340 stock to work with the Hornet action. He seems pretty intrigued.

I read the warning about necro-posting. But I'm in a similar boat, I've got a 322A that could really use a better stock.

So how did this all turn out?

Ok... been a few weeks since my post... Is this thread dead, and should I start a new one?
