View Full Version : 6BR inconsistent extraction

I have a 110 (formerly .308) with a McGowan 6BR barrel...I'm struggling along with single shot feeding over the blind magazine follower until I get the other kinks worked out.

Current problem; I'm getting cases that will only extract about half way out (and not eject at all) about 50% of the time.

Where should I be looking first to solve this.

Thanks!
Jeff

Common problem with the BR round. There is 2 ways to fix it, you can do them both.
1 fix.
Do a bit of cutting.

Fix 2.
Get a larger ball bearing to fit behind the extractor.

Thankyou Gentlemen,

I will start with a new PPC extractor (I'm not afraid to buy two and take a file to the first one). The detent ball switch might be my first move, since I can try that as soon as the hardware store opens in the morning.

I appreciate your being so generous with your experience.

Thanks!
Jeff
