Not sure if this is the right area to post this so Mods. please feel free to move it.

I have recently gotten the long range handgun itch (Thanks a lot Neal! ;D) I would like to know what the going rate is for a Super Striker, I located 2 locally a .22-250 and a .223 both had Burris glass on top, I didn't actually handle them so I don't know exactly which model Burris but both were AO scopes with posi-lock the same dealer had them both and they were priced at $825.00 each, I know people went a little nuts when they were discontinued and prices got pretty high but that seems out of line to me. What do you guys think?

Thanks!
Bob

Normal uninflated prices were about $450 for the synthetic striker and $550 for the super striker, not including glass and mounts. Rarely do you find them at this price though, but deals will pop up now and then.

Depending which Burris and its condition, the glass is worth $300-400 probably.

So actually the price is probably about right for them I would think,(although I got mine for 550 including an older Burris 3-12 and Farrell base :P.) You could look on Gunbroker to see what they have been going for(usually under the "other" section in pistols).

Go to the specialtypistols site(http://specialtypistols.infopop.cc/eve/forums) and shop around. Theres a guy "Ray" that is selling a super striker now for $500 or 550 I think, and had a custom or two for sale also. You think you're hooked now, wait till you visit that site :o(My striker action is sitting in bedding in one of Neals stocks as we speak ::)). Lots of nice pistols on there to see.

Striker's are now selling around $450+ with no scope. The Super is nothing more then the different stock. It dose bring more money. The stock is easy to sell If you do not like it. They feel wrong to me.
3x12 burris scopes have very finicky eye relief, but are the most power you can get in a EER scope. they sell for over $300-. 2x7s sell for a couple hundred

So short version, no bargain. A lot of them out there for $650- with lesser scopes.

Sadly, I'm already a member there also :'(

Thanks for the replies gents! I may go back and try to do some trading on one of them this week. I got a line on an XP and went to check on it yesterday, it had an old 5x Burris on it and was in the original .221 Fireball configuration, asking price was $919.95 and it wasn't exactly pristine.

Bob- you are welcome!

Ray's is a great price on SP, except the caliber the last time I saw it was probably not desirable.

If it is a small shank you can have all my Striker barrels for the cost of the shipping!

The price on the start of this thread is pretty much an average price. Check the price on a new 3X12 Burris-they are definitely up there.

I paid $600. a month ago for a standard plastic stocked with three barrels and my first benchrest striker stock, plus bases, rings and a Simmons 3X9.

I know this is an old topic but my experience forced me to add a post. I am in AL, I have 3 bolt action pistols- A Rem 221 Fireball w/ a Redfield 2x-7x scope, a Savage 516 in .22-250 w/ a Burris 2x-8X scope and a Savage 516 in 7mm-08 w/ good scope(it is in the safe right now and for the sake of this post- I am very pleased with what it carries). The 221 (in great shape) was private deal from a gunshop friend + 125 rds of ammo-$450. The .22-250 was Birmingham Gun shop deal- $399. + a new Rem M7 .243 barral that previous owner wanted to fit but did not follow thru, and the 7mm-08 was a Gun Show deal for $425. Both the Strykers are in excellent condidtion w/ black factory stocks. They all shoot great, the 22-250 is a .5" grouper w/ Rem 55gr. JHPs. I'm in the market for .260 Rem barrel for the 22-250. Any tips on where to look?

+1 on the rifle take offs, I have a .243 that shoots great, it was nothing to right home about as a rifle but when I lopped it off at 18" and re-crowned it, WOW!
