Help with id savage 99

I found this savage for sale locally. I still need to ask about the serial number, but the shop selling it is saying its a 1949. If I could have any opinions on this rifle, I would really appreciate any information. Since I can't post attachments yet, I can email pictures if someone is willing to help. The rifle has diamond inserts in the stock and is 300 savage. It has a cloverleaf stamped on the lever. I can't find any information online about it.

Sounds like it's going to be a 99EG that's been dickered with. The clover leaf is an inspectors mark.
