FW Conch,
We haven't had any requests for any of those barrels, but we can definitely make them as we chamber for everything but the 7mm BR, but if we don't purchase the reamer, I'm sure that we can rent it.

BoilerUP,
We can make any of the barrels you are looking for in 20" lengths. I'll put an production order on the floor to make a few of each. As to threading them, what I'll probably do is ask my guys to make then initially without muzzle threads or caps, but adding threads and a cap is a pretty quick turn service.

JohnAC,

We've not had a lot of requests for the 25 calibers, but after reading all of these posts requesting them I'm going to initiate a production order for some 25 caliber blanks. Once I have the blanks on hand, the turnaround is much quicker than starting one from the beginning.

Guys,

You have spoken! We typically keep some 6mm, 6.5, 7mm, 30 caliber and 338 caliber stainless blanks on hand for quick turn/rush orders. I'm going to initiate a production/inventory order for the floor to make some more. I'll also talk to the McGowen Outlet webmaster and have him add some sporter weight barrels into their order system. What I'll do with these blanks is turn the majority of them to either varmint or bull contours and standard/small shank threading. If you order a barrel in a Savage Sporter or Magnum contour, or frankly any contour that we offer in our Contouring page, we should be able to easily recontour them into the contour that you desire. Keep in mind that the contours on our Contouring page show a larger diameter shank than what is standard on any shank size Savage. The contour is modified to work with your shank size. Once we have those blanks in stock, the Outlet webmaster will make the ordering of them active, so all you'll have to do is choose your shank size, contour, length, crown, finish, rifling twist and chambering. The chamber reamers that we currently carry are listed on our website, you can go to "Barrels" - Chrome Moly Barrels and scroll down the page to the caliber that you are interested in and it will show the rifling twists we offer as well as the chamberings that we offer. We're adding more reamers all the time, so if you don't see it, ask as we may already have it.

I'll ask again, how about a "benchrest special", a 21" or 22" varmint contour, 14" twist, 6mmBR for those of us who would like to dabble around in short-range VFS matches without breaking the bank? Think of how McGowen's reputation would be bolstered if a few of us actually started beating some of the guys with the high $ rigs. Edit: preferably available in both large and small shanks. And with a shorter throat than the Norma, so that it would work with shorter lighter bullets.

I would like to see McGowen #3 contour, 24 in. barrel in the standard calibers, (2506) many barrel makers neglect the mid weight barrels, and these make the nicest packing guns, as a light sporter isn't heavy enough. I need one in a 3006 SPR. 1/10 twist

6.5/300WSM would be nice!

Sporter contour barrels, not everyone shoots targets. I would like to see a 25-06 with a 26" lighter weight barrel.

This...in stainless...

How about a 16.5" 1/8 twist .300 Blackout threaded upfront for a 5/8-24 suppressor? In a light varmint or varmint contour.
If I had a half dozen of them I could sell them right now.

+1.
And as mentioned 6.5-06.
Both in hunting contours like around #3.

Same here. Would like to see #3 contour or #4. I think the 6.5 SAUM is a hot cartridge right now.

How about the .284 AI or .284 Shehane in 1:9 or greater twists, medium to heavy contours, for 180 VLD's like Berger?

Can we get a 25-06 with a 1 in 9 twist instead of the standard 1 in 10?
