Factory maple stock?

I stumbled into an older flat back 30-06 with what appears to be a factory maple stock??? When were these offered? Think its worth $550 in pretty good shape?

I'm guessing it's birch. Not worth anywhere near $550 in my part of the world, unless it comes with lots of extras.

If it is Maple, my bet it is a Fagen stock

I saw one of those once. Nice looking in a different sort of way. I did not open the action to see if it had the old style bolt nose or not though.

I would start bargaining at around $275 or so. I wouldn't give $500 for it
