After 5 shots to sight in the barrel, I was amazed at the inherent accuracy of the .20 Practical. This picture if it comes thru is a 7 shot group at the end of the day breaking it in. The group was .70 at it's widest measurement, less the .204, so a little under 1/2. I though it was not to shabby for a new barrel and 7 shots. Sorry, the 2.20 on the picture was the overall length.

Looks like you have a winner there!! That little round has had me thinking alot about it here lately.

The 35 Bergers were running at approx. 3850'fps. It has a better ballistics than a .223 and is extremely accurate. There/s a lot of quality used brass out there, but I started with new RUAG brass which is Swiss and German military brass that seems to shoot and reload as well as my Lapua. Simply neck down the brass and load. Uses less powder than the usual .223 and has better velocity. Very close to the same ballistics to the .204 Ruger with less powder, and reasonably priced brass. You can watch the rounds hit the target, due to the lack of recoil, and on a humid day you get a unique vapor trail to amuse yourself
Here is some good reading:

I was thinking about building a .204 but when I stumbled across the .20 practical I've pretty much written that off. There isn't much not to like about the Practical. Once I'm done with my current build in progress I'm thinking that'll be the next one. Keep us up to date on the targets, I bet it's going to be even more impressive. Nice trigger work by the way.
