I run a 20moa base bedded to my 7mag with a Leupold topped on Burris sig zees. My zero is 100yds. I believe my scope has 52moa adjustment. A couple weeks ago I shot a 1000yds, ammo chronographed to 2950fps with berger 168gr vld at 1550amsl. Calculator gave -259.57'' bullet drop. I had 30 moa in elevation adjustment left and still I was approx. 40'' low at that range. My point is that 20moa may not be enough to go out that far without additional shimming or optic adjustment. I will be using the offset inserts myself, convenient for sure, zero at long range and adjust down to close range.

So maybe you needed 25 MOA, and the signature rings might do that for you. Keep us posted how it works out.

Just so I know how to interpret what you are saying below: You say you were 40" low at 1000 yards which is ~4moa. Then you say that you had "30MOA left". So I am not detecting a problem ?

So clarify: Were you able to dial up the extra 4moa and this was a non issue ? Why then do you go on to suggest that 20MOA might not be enough ? Sure, if we took our 22lr to the 1000 yard line then we might need 60 or 80 MOA or possibly more, but about any rifle that is practical (still supersonic) at 1000 yards would not need more than a 20MOA inclined base.

I doubt it is super sonic much past the 900 mark? I'm not saying it doesn't have enough energy to put a hurtin on. But its running out of velocity fast past 800.

Be interesting to see how the Inserts work out. My scope only has 36 minutes total so 20 puts it a bit high at short range.

I used 30 of my 52. If you shim a 20 or get a rail that gets you zero on the bottom you're in the money and still good at close range. Granted, the ballistics have to be similar to mine and there is the argument that quality is reduced at extreme end of adjustment, if that is true your glass would be spot on at 500yds. Also, Burris did win a bunch of awards and such when they introduced the signature line so there may be some thing to the idea of distortion and such. Although, they are very proud of these rings I happen to like some of my weaver gear too and at half the price who knows? Buy once cry once maybe?
