Here is my first build that me and my brother just finished last week. Stock is a Boyds Nutmeg,.300 win mag Criterion 24" Heavy Sporter Barrel finishing .72" at the muzzle with recessed crown, Aftermarket recoil lug and barrel nut from NSS(northland shooters supply), Scope is a Nikon Prostaff 4x12x40mm with BDC reticle. Some alterations that I had to do was inlet the stock to accept the heavy barrel, other than that it was just fitting the barrel to the 111 action.

Looks real good. You will have to let us know how it shoots. Post photo's of your targets.

What twist is your barrel?

Are you planning on a hunting rifle? Or will you use it for paper punching?

Good Luck.

Thanks. It does look good. The twist is a 1 in 10. It will be used for kentucky whitetail rifle season and hog hunt we are going on in june. It will also be used for paper punching for fun lol. Will post photos later of how she groups. It was a ton of fun building this gun. Plan on doing another in the future

Very Nice!!! Is that a set of Weaver extended rings? I've been looking at them, just reversed or maybe a dual set. Thanks, kb

Very nice!
If it shoots half as good as it looks you have a keeper there.

Yes these are Weaver rings for a long action rifle, as the standard weaver style rings would not work with the scope, as its a long action.

Just take note that shooting from a lead sled is very hard on your scope. Arresting recoil like that has a price and it will be paid by the scope.

Never thought of that one before. How would you be able to keep the rifle perfectly still while getting a precise sight in then? Would you use a bipod?

No, bipods have their issues too. Money spent on a quality rear bag and front rest is well spent. Make sure the bags are properly fitting to your stock for good tracking and return to POA. An affordable setup if you aren't going to use it a ton is the Blackhawk Titan II. If you want the best and are willing to pay Sinclair's varmint rest is top notch. Hart makes some nice ones that can usually be found used around $75. I doubt you want a Farley for the price but if the joystick feature is something you're interested in the Caldwell fire control might be up your alley. It's not the tightest but it's a fraction of a Farley.
