Ok....my most dreaded activity.

I have a 1200 trimmer on my 550b so trimming is a snap when I'm sizing.....but I still have to chamfer & deburr.

I made a tool holder to use a drill but.....it spins a little fast......and it still takes forever.

I considered an RCBS power trimmer with a 3 way head but, I don't know if that's going to be any less work than I'm already doing and it's $325 (with the 3 way head).

At that price I might as well get a Gracey...but if I'm going to get a Gracey...why not save up a little more and get a Giraud ?? But do I really need a $425 trimmer if it's really just chamfer & deburr that I hate ??

I struggle with this circular logic.

Anyone have any experience with a Hornady Trio ??

I use the little Lyman bench mount hand crank...it's not a power head but it's also not $325 and I can fly through cases after trimming on the power lathe.

I use this https://shop.rcbs.com/WebConnect/MainServlet?storeId=webconnect&catalogId=webconnect&langId=en_US&action=ProductDisplay&screenlabel=index&productId=3170&route=C11J037

I champhered and deburred and cleaned primer pockets on 150 cases yesterday and it took 45 minutes, with no sore or cramping hands. I did spend extra for the carbide VLD & debur tool.

cool thanks, that's the kind of info I'm looking for.

The Dillon makes trimming a zero effort step since its on the head with the sizer. But then I have a big pile to chamfer/deburr.

I sized and trimmed 1k .223 last week & I'll be doing 500 22-250 this weekend.

The thought of using my drill set up for 1500 rounds.....then turning the tool around and doing 1500 again.....has me looking for a better way.

I'm using the Lee Quick Trim for my 223 cases. It trims and chamfers at the same time. It is a hand crank, but things go very quickly. I've been happy with it so far. It is my first and only trim system. Price is right.

The Lee power trim chuck fits in a drill, then get the trimmer specific to the caliber. It will get exact lengths every time. While the case is still in the drill chuck it's a quick deal to power chamfer too. This will cost you around $15, or you can still spend $325 to get the same result no faster.

I recently bought a 22 cal 3 cutter head for my RCBS Trim-Pro to work through 1500 pieces or 223....well worth the $55....I'll be buying more cals as needed....really worth the time savings and it does a nice job.

This.

I don't know why they make anything else.

I know a couple guys that have made adapters to use the Lee trimmer studs / cutters on the RCBS case prep units , that way they trim , chamfer , de-burr and all the extra prep steps at one station .

My buddy the ffl shoots NRA high power, he has settled on a Giraud and I have too (I did not receive mine yet).
Our rational was time, on step, done
it you shoot a few calibers in high volume, I think Giraud is it.
