All parts are new from Midway. Both of the bolt heads and all of the parts are brand new.

The .384 went together and works fine.

The .470 went together easy but, the ejector is handing up in the extended position. The hole is just loose enough and it comes up just far enough that the top of the cutout catches on the face as it depresses.

Anyone else run into this before ?? Ejector machined incorrectly ??

Looking at both of them, I'm thinking that if it was able to, the .384 would have the same problem.

Looking at my other ejectors, none of the cutouts are this high up...but non of my ejectors are the new style.

Those ejectors are not right....they are either out of spec, or they are not even Savage parts.

This is definitely my own observation of the pictures and own opinion...

Not sure about the ejector, I know nothing of it(which is why I'm here, to learn more). But, the edges of those heads look used and worn, almost rounded. I might have a 'new old stock' rifle, but I definitely traded my guitar for a 'used rifle', and my bolt head looks machined much better with tighter tolerance.

Again, just an observation. I can take pics after work for comparison.
