I'm thinking about starting to reload for my axis in 308. Can anyone tell me what they use for theirs?

Currently we use Varget with 150s and 165/168s. Somewhere between 44.5 and 46.0 you will find great accuracy. In the past I have used a lot of H4895 with excellent success too. Since I can't find Varget now, I plan to try Tac as soon as the weather breaks.

It has been a while since I've reloaded 308 but H414 worked well. I think the Winchester 760 is the same but if you use the ball powder, use a magnum rifle primer with it.

I have had great luck with 155's and Varget. RL15 also worked well in some 308's for me.

My 308 Axis had ho hum accuracy until I used 155 gr Noslers. 42gr TAC gave superb accuracy, less than 1". Very mild load, but killed 2 Whitetails with it. Noslers match bullets make an awesome deer bullet for broadside shots.
