Went out yesterday with a buddy to do some shooting and we ended up going after a 14" rock at 960 yards. He brought a 300 WSM and 7mm Rem Mag rifles, and I brought the 284 Striker. It took a few shots to get the wind call right, but after that I was making hits easily. I have to give credit to the guy I was with for making some great wind calls. I actually made more hits with my Striker than I did with his rifles. And the 300 WSM used to be mine! That's the most fun I've had with the 284 since I finished it.

Also shot the 6mm BR Striker at 100 to do a little group shooting. Best group was a 5 shot .182" group. Those were shots number 2-6 after 1 fouler. Including the first shot out of the cold clean barrel the group was still under .75". The 6mm BR has always shot well, but this even impressed me. I love that little gun!

Sounds like you had yourself a good day of fun and showing just what can be done with an SP!

If there aren't pictures then it didn't happen.

Sounds like a good day.

I didn't think to get pictures while I was out there. It kind of looks like a rock on the other side of the valley!:p

I do have pics of the guns though, just because I love to post them!

Here's the 284. 19" McGowen with a Premier Reticles VX3 6.5-20x50

Nice looking SPs and nice shooting. I love hitting steel way out there and seeing the look of disbelief in the rifle shooters.
