Recoil pad on 12BVSS

Is the recoil pad on a 12BVSS removable/replaceable without grinding it off and sticking something like a LimbSaver on it? The schematics I've seen don't show the pad as a separate piece or part number.

I replaced the one on my .308. There are two small, but long Phillips screws holding it on. The screws were tight, so be careful you don't strip the heads out.

Thanks, Gary! I wonder why there's no part number for the recoil pad? What did you replace yours with?

I replaced it with a Pachmayr Trap Pad that I had in my stash. I wanted a longer LOP, and the Pachmayr pad is thicker. The butt profile didn't match exactly, but so what.
