Hey guys,
This is my first post...great board you have here. I just purchased a Stevens 200 in .270 and am going to rebarrel it in either 6.5 Swede or .257 Roberts....no biggie there, but I want a heavier barrel than the factory contour. For you guys that own a Boyds Prairie Hunter, How much meat is there to widen the barrel channel? I am looking at a Shilen or CBI in a Varmint Contour, but am thinking I may have to go Light Varmint. Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
