I have one of these that belonged to my grandfather that is in excellent condition. (He claimed it wouldn't shoot straight) I would seriously doubt that it has ever had more than a box of shells fired thru it. He bought it for deer hunting and once my uncle Duane passed the gun was never taken out of the closet except to run a oiled patch thru it a couple times a year. In my searches I see they made several variations of this gun with a A B C suffix to the model #. Can someone explain the differences between the different editions so that I can do a better job of identifying this gun? I need to dig it out and get some pics of it. I would love to work up a load to use in this gun as it would be a real good short range brush gun. Any Ideas on loads for it?

The A, B etc suffixes were just small changes made to the gun, usually internal parts modifications to fix small problems with the guns.

You can try to find a date code on it but the early ones weren't marked.

It's a small oval stamp with a number and a letter in it.
