This is a pic of his super cannon, that was located not to far from where I use to live on the Vermont / Canadian border,
I can't begin to express how big this thing was, it is 300' with a 36" diameter barrel the breech was the size of a bank vault, it has since been dismantled and demolished and buried, which I was totally against, I use to go there all the time and just sit there and look at it in awe, there are other buildings on the property it was called the space research center, he would have been able to send satellites into space, at one 1000th of the cost of a space shuttle launch, but that would have put NASA out of business so it was squashed.

He first made a name for himself modifying 155mm Howitzers, which had a range in it's original form of 17 Miles, and after he was finished with them they had a range of 54 Miles, it then became an industry standard.

Did they ever figure out who or what did him in, know what was on the TV most likely 50/50 fiction

That thing was amazing. Its also what got Bull killed. The Iraqis(?) hired him to build one and lured him into a project for their scud missles. This ended up getting him assassinated by either Isreal or Iran.

I was a forward observer for the US Army Field Artillery. A 155 has a range of 14.5km (9 miles). The RAP (rocket assisted projectile) extended this to 30km (18.6 miles). Bull did, however, work on many awesome cannons with unfathomable range.

Anywhoo, awesome cannon

That had Mossad written all over it, they say the hit was done in Brussels, But some have eluded it was done on American soil, and re stage over there,

T-Rex I did not mean to stretch the numbers, you don't have to with this guy he was a genius in his own right, I got those numbers from PBS Frontline, is there a smaller Howitzer that shoots smaller projectiles further, when that word is used 155mm come right to mind, your right though that word is over used, but it really was amazing, I wish I would have been older at the time, so I could have understood more what I was looking at, and the dynamics involved and they implications it meant, I sure loved to go there and just look at it, it is pretty unbelievable you could just drive up to the property, with no one around and wonder and look at all kinds of projects that were there, and modern buildings that were just empty, and never a soul in sight, when you went to see it you had to walk down a wooded path and then out of nowhere it would appear, and every time I would look at it like it was the first I had laid eyes on it, and every time I was leaving just before turning that corner to take the path back, I would turn around for one last look, to make sure what I saw was real, it was one of those things that really made an impression on me in my youth, we have all experienced that to some point.

And This

He consulted for everyone, but ran into trouble when he worked for the South Africans. The South Africans were having trouble in Angola at the time (the mid-Seventies). The communist government, aided by Cuban troops and Soviet artillery, was pounding their proxy soldiers to bits. Bull, with the implicit encouragement of the CIA, helped them design a new 155-mm howitzer with 50% more range than anything else at the time. He sold them gun barrels for it and thousands of shells. With the new guns, the South Africans were able to stop the Angolans cold.

Well after all these years it just dawned on me, where my obsession with velocity comes from, and I could not be more serious I just realized this, you see something that leaves a huge impression on you, when you are young and it becomes part of you. I'll be dam'd
