Hey guys I am getting a 22-250 specifically for calling coyotes. What bullets and powders do you guys use that are fur friendly but still put em down with authority? Thanks for the replies

I believe the twist rate of your new rifle will determine the starting point for bullet/weight. My model 12 has a 1:12 rate and likes 4064,
H380 and Varget recipes with 50-55 grain bullets. I like Hornady Vmax but don't hunt for fur. Good Luck

Both the 52gr Hornady HP and Amax's with 40gr of CFE 223, produce speeds of over 4000FPS with ragged hole grouping, and have never seen any signs of pressure, in the dozen different guns I have tried it in.

And it's a good thing I just bought some 4064 huh? Lol also that cfe223 how is that? Should it be in my best interest to get some?

I have started using in a lot of applications, all with great success and they increased FPS was a bonus, I started using it over Varget when it was scarce, and haven't bought Varget since.

That good huh? Looks like I'll be buying some. Is it more expensive than varget or 4064?

I just got a can of that to try in my 22-250. I have always used magnum primers with spherical powder. (based on reloading recipes from Speer manuals) I understand it helps eliminate temp sensitivity. Any thoughts?

response to this thread- I use 50gr Nosler ballistic tip over 37gr H380, CCI 250, all packaged in a norma case. shoots .4 MOA

I use a 55gr Sierra HPBT over 35.5 grains of Varget in my 22/250, also 1in 12 twist, when it gets to go hunting with me. I prefer 6mm caliber chamberings for coyotes though.
