Hi I recently saw 112 BVSS in 223 listed for sale "pre-accutrigger" is there any way to tell what the twist rate is? Since I don't have it in hand I can't run a patch down the barrel. When was the accu-trigger started possibly then the all the twist rates for the .223 were the same? thanks BOB
Found the answer elsewhere. thanks for looking.

My pre-accutrigger 112 Varmint.223 has a 1-9 barrel I beleive the accu-trigger came out after 2002-2003

The one I looked at I found was a 1-12

12 twist? Surprising to me they'd run such a slow twist. I don't think that will stabilize anything heavier than 55's.

Mid to late 90's is when Savage went from the 1-12 to the 1-9 twist. I believe the Model 12 short action was already in production.

The year was 1996 when I bought my first Savage. It was 112BVSS in .223 with 1/9 twist, no accutrigger.
The following year my buddy bought the "new" #12 short action, with 1/9 twist, not sure of the trigger though.
