View Full Version : Does the OLD AccuStock NEED the accu-wedge?

I got the AccuStock I ordered from Numrich today and it turns out to be the old style that has the wider channel for the accu-wedge. However they did not include the wedge or screw. I called and the CS said I could return it but that their system didn't show the difference between the old and the new. So...Do I return it and look elsewhere, make or order a wedge, or can this one be used without the wedge in place? I have read an old post that seems to indicate it is possible to use it w/o the wedge. If I keep it I will have to mod it to fit my 11 with top bolt release.

Thanks

All the newer ones don't have the wedge. You will be fine without the wedge.

Thanks, I suppose what I am concerned about is the width of the slot where the recoil lug & wedge fit into. Without the wedge there is a 1/4" or so gap in front of the lug.

ETA:Maybe I could fill the gap with epoxy or something.

Gap in front of recoil lug is fine. When I bed a rifle, i leave a gap in front of the recoil lug, usually the thickness of a piece of tape, but a gap nonetheless.
