I'm in the middle of planning a 338 Edge build and I'd like to have a stock that will accept the AI 300 WM magazines. If at all possible, I'd like a chassis stock, but I'm not finding them for Savage long actions.

Pacific tool and Gauge has bottom metal for savage rifles that you could have fitted in just about any stock. Ashbury Precision Ordnance makes Savage chassis systems that accept AI Mags but they are pretty pricy. McMillan makes savage stocks to order but I think you would have to buy the bottom metal from PTG and have it installed. I have a Bell and Carlson medalist stock with the aluminum bedding block and I love it. It was pretty much just bolt it on and shoot no bedding needed. Mine is a short action though.

Did you try PDC, XLR, Saber-Forsst, or Savage.

just a question. are you sure the 338 edge will fit in standard AI magazines? the magazines allow for a 3.625" COAL and doesn't the .338 edge run about 3.8ish? i guess you could use 250gr bullets and it should fit but then don't you lose the advantage over the .338 lapua thats using 300 gr bullets? all based on speculation and charts and numbers. i honestly have no real world experience with this I'm just stuck between .338 edge and .338 lapua because of the magazine fitment issue.

I used a take off HS precision stock from a 338 fcp hs, with accurate mag bottom metal for mine. They offer a 3.8" 300 win mag magazine. I paid around $400 for all of it. Not a bad way to go on a budget.

If you are planning on running the 300gr Bergers, your not going to be able to fit them in any mag out there. Your col will be around 3.9 to 4". I've already been down this road with my 300 RUM build I have going, accurate mags will fit 3.775" about as long as there is, but still to short for my RUM loads with the 230gr Bergers. Also you would want to use the Lapua mags and tweak the feed lips, the 300WM mags are to narrow in the body.
