110 FCP HS; no trigger spring adjustment?

Just picked this up and when I took the action and barrel out of the stock, I noticed that there is no trigger spring adjustment screw. Is that now normal?

Which trigger do you have?

If you have the Accu-trigger then you need to use the supplied tool to adjust. The tool gets inserted into the hole indicated by the blue arrow below.

It is an accutrigger.
also, does the last large diameter coil look odd? Seems like it's bent or something?

Yep, that spring is funky... outta wack. Call savage for a replacement. Also, look for the little yellow screw driver. It should have come in a little zip-lock bag with your owners manual, etc. Savage can provide that as well.

Everything I can see looks the same as a regular Accu-trigger and the tool normally engages the cross section of the spring. What I am wondering is what is this little chunk of wire I have indicated with the blue arrow in the pic below?

If you don't want to wait for the tool to adjust the spring you can turn the spring by hand. It's easy when you remove the trigger from the housing.

Bootsmcquire, that's exactly what I asked savage this morning. It's a part of the spring; an out of whack coil. No reply from them yet.

Also, I don't think I got an adjustment tool with my purchase.

I'll be honest, I'm kinda disappointed so far. This is my first savage and to spend over 1k and have issues out of the box is weak.

Rumors and accounts have been circulating of QC issues such as this lately, I think the major demand to make as many as possible and the new CEO (with some in house policy changes I am sure) not to mention it seems like they are trying to cheapen up about every aspect they can (at least for the lower level stuff) such as plastic DBM parts, newer firing pin assemblies, etc. has their QC department lacking from what I am going to assume is a scramble to keep up with higher production numbers and changes to the company and products.

All JMHO but seems logical.

Drybean, while I am certainly in need of those items I feel that Savage should make this right, not a Good Samaritan. I do appreciate the offer though.

Called savage back since I didn't get a reply on Friday. The woman who answered the phone said that she showed my picture to a gunsmith and he stated that it (my spring as shown) was normal. She said that the spring moves when I adjust it. I know it does, but don't see how that coil will fix itself with rotation. Even when turning by hand it doesn't get any better.

They are sending me an adjustment took, but I still don't think my spring is right.

It isn't. Might work fine, but it isn't right. I'd order a new one. Not expensive, and other than for sake of principle, not worth the fight, in my opinion.

From the looks of the first two pictures could the spring be on there upside down? Just a thought because the spring does look a tad bit big.

Drybean is cool for that. Too bad a corporation can't be more reasonable. Whether it was defective or not, it isn't worth upsetting a customer, for crying out loud!

I don't think it's upside down. The top portion has the coil end sticking up to be seated in the hole drilled in the frame.
