I have ordered from Midway USA several times in the past, and always was impressed with them..They used to always have that Prvi. Partizan ammo in 222 for around 10 dollars a box,and I would always stock up,but now I'm getting low,and I hate to pay 20 dollars a box for it in town because that cheap stuff shoots just fine in the gun..The only issue I have with it is that the bolt's a little stiff to close on some shells...I went to their website, and they have it listed as out of stock backorder ok,and date of arrival as overdue...My question is Have any of you ever ordered their ammo on this Backorder deal, and what are your opinions of it...Thanks

At this point I wouldn't hold my breath on any ammo that's back-ordered. The supply is still so hit and miss you may be waiting a week, a month, or even a year. In fact, Midway has gone to not even allowing back-orders on most out-of-stock ammunition for this very reason.

Look at Aim Surplus, they are OOS, but a good place to deal with.

That's what I was a little worried about,I still have almost two boxes, and could make it last a good while, but I enjoy playing with it too much...I'm thinking about getting into Re-Loading because I have a few old (I hate to say obsolete) calibres....Thanks

Midway has the same "notify me" feature. I used it for a few varieties of .22 LR, but other people must've done the same, because a few hours later when I checked my email, it was gone!

One thing that has frustrated me over the years about Midway is they seem to be OOS on a lot of stuff, not just ammo. I'm sure it's because they carry a ton of items, but still frustrating.

I've used the back order feature on several items I don't need at the moment, it works good for that, but I wouldn't hold much stock on their expected in stock date.

I certainly thank you all for the input...I'm thinking seriously about getting in to reloading..I was surprised at all the reloading supplies Walmart carries.

In what state does Walmart carry reloading supplies? Some of our local Walmarts won't even carry guns.

Ripley W.Va. is the Walmart I was refering to .They sell powder, bullets, shell holders, and scales. They have some sort of kit with press, and what you need to get started reloading execpt dies according to the box.

That's great. Ours carry black powder and bullets suitable for black powder guns, and a couple boxes of loaded ammo, but that's it.

Get a set of 222 dies and convert 223 brass to it. Easy as pie, just trim, full length size, trim again, reduce your load by about 15%, start there and work up. Best to use a chronograph to get to the velocity you are shooting for (pun intended). No need to wait for commercial stuff to be available.
