Just curious.... what does the $15 go to? All I could find was that paid memberships got access to classifieds and some other stuff.

For the full listing of what you get for your paid membership, please click on "Membership Info" in the light blue bar above. The $15 goes to help defray the cost of the servers and the forum infrastructure and yes, some of it goes to pay the owner.

X2 just cashed in on a purchase yesterday for a pair of scopes and mount for my son's rifles.

It goes to paying the bills associated with running this site.
It goes to paying for any materials or items needed for said articles and reviews (ammo, targets, cleaning supplies, etc.)
And whatever is left over goes to paying me a meager wage for maintaining the site, writing articles and reviews, etc.

Contrary to popular belief sites like this do cost money to run and time to maintain, and someone has to put up that money and spend their time doing it. Like most people I like to get paid for the work I do.
