Just got my .243AI Brux back and have a McGowen 250AI on the way. These are not my first Ackley's, but I want to hear some fire-forming methods and load info. My .243AI is a 1-8" 26" and the 250AI is a 1-10" 22".

Sorry Greg no pics yet.

have a box of 105 Amaxs and they are not working well in anything I have. [6 dif- 6MM/.243s]
85gr berger, 70gr & 90gr ballistic tips are working. using IMR 4320. have not gotten serious with the .243AI yet. .5"@100 on great day most days 1.25" :) dam fliers!

remember what brand that Rem barrel was? never did ask you. turned it into a .244 AI and turned a stock .243 into a 243ai

You can save bullets with cream of wheat, but wax bullets never reach the target. every fire form load I have used I have gotten under 1", most even better if I try.

I used .308 cases and necked them down. this left a false shoulder in the neck shoulder junction. loaded them with 35.5gr of IMR 4320 and 85gr TSX.
even though the cases say .308, it is not hard to know what they really are. ;) as long as they do not get mixed with .22-250AIs. then I have to read them.

I did this to get cases sized to my die and then used them also to headspace. Now I know everything is tight.

I really want to shoot 105 Amax's out of the 243AI and 75gr's out of the 250ai
The Ackley's stock is in the Waxing stages almost done, Hate True-Oil but it's quick and easy.

That Remmy barrel was a Hart.

Cool! maybe I have a bad batch. sight in my scope at 50yds to hit center of an 8x11 target and could not even hit the paper at 100yds with the 6BR. think it is a 7.5 twist.
