Just got a new axis in 243 and was wondering if any one could give me a good load using
sierra 85 gr. HPBT's ?

43.5gr of H4831 and the 85gr Sierra HPBT killed a lot of deer for me.

That's a very good load for the 243.

I have used 4064 with 60 gr hollow points and 58 gr VMax with good success. I like 4350 with 100 gr Nosler partitions worked very well. Follow the starting load recs on this page and work up. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/

I also bought some H100V but haven't used it yet.

I use the IMr 4350 but load 95 gr nosler ballistic tips . 40.5 gr 2975fps, .64 groups @ 100

IMR 4064 has been the best performer for me with 85g projectiles...I can't remember how much of it I used though off the top of my head.
