So I have a model 10 McMillan on order, but it looks like it is going to take a couple of weeks to arrive. In the mean time I am shopping around for a bipod. I have pretty much settled on the Atlas BT10-LW17 (http://www.accu-shot.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=68). My main question is can somebody take a measurement between the two sling studs on the forearm of the stock, so I can figure out which length rail I should get (3.5" or 4") Also, If anybody has mounted one of these bipods on their rifles I may have some other questions for ya.

I have a Mcmillan A3 stock and the front studs are 3" on center. I just put an Atlas on mine and used the BT17 rail that will work on 2.2 to 3.5" spacing.

You will love the Atlas.

thanks. Did you have to get the rail fastener kit as well?

No. If it already has 2 sling studs you will only need two 10-32 screws to secure the rail. I used black button head allen screws from a local hardware store.
