Anyone buy this rifle yet and your thoughts?

I couldn't really find reviews anywhere, only Specs. but it sure does look good!

Ordered one Wednesday in 22-250. I will change out the scope and give it a go when it delivers. I'm curious if it is an identical stock to the regular axis so I can get a Boyd's on it.

From looking at the Savage page it looks like the same Axis with an accutrigger?

You'll have to let us know what you think of it. An Axis with Accutrigger....really like the idea

I swear, sometimes I get the feeling some of you would go coo coo over a turd with lipstick on it if Savage announced it as a new product. It's an Axis with an AccuTrigger...there's nothing at all new or special about it. In fact, people around here have been putting AccuTriggers into their Axis since they first came out in 2010.

Behold, a genu-wine turd with lipstick on it, from Savage no less!!!!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/11/pygyvenu.jpg
Funny, I don't remember ANYBODY going coo coo over that one lol. :-)

And I think comparing the Axis 2 to a deuce in red is a bit harsh. I think it's a logical evolution, and a good idea. Heck if the availability of aftermarket stocks improves, I might even buy one.

Maybe he was hoping they changed the rear portion of the receiver and actually had a recoil lug that was a part of the barrelled action and not a little piece of tin that only contacts the receiver in a small notch?

I was looking at the price difference yesterday and I can't really see spending the extra $130 just to get an Accu-Trigger. when I can get an aftermarket trigger for $100 or rework the factory trigger.

To the OP and subsequent sincere posters and Axis 2 owners.. Sorry for hijacking your thread. I personally think that an Axis with a factory installed Accutrigger is a great option for an entry level rifle. Please disregard all of the previous silliness.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I still can't believe they discontinued the Model 24 and replaced it with...that....thing.

Never made or implied that comparison TYVM. My point was about people going coo coo over it like it was something revolutionary. It's not.
