I have a couple of the 4.5X14AO's and they are pretty good scopes for the money. The only thing I don't like is the focus and AO adjustments are set up for a right hander and I am a lefty. The now discontinued 4.5X14AO Tactical was a much better scope for about the same money.

Ditto! Have had a Weaver V scope 3-16x40 for 15 years now. Don't know if the quality is still the same since Weaver has changed hands twice but this one has been a really good scope. You might want to check out the Redfield....guess Leupold is going to try and resurrect the product line so there may be some good deals out there.

My new Redfield is great. I bought it just to see what they had done. But it does not have AO, which I consider essential.

I put the Redfield on a Savage .308 which is for deer and hogs only to 250 yds.
