I am looking for a Spotting scope to use at the range and filed. 200 yard range I would like to be able to see bullet holes.

I look through the $220 Redfiled scope at Dicks and liked it compared to the $70 Simmons there. It wasn't much better then the $130 Burris there and not even close to what the $360 Leopold.

does jumping up from the $120 scopes to the $220 scopes make that big of a difference. if not then whats the best scope under $150.

I think it's worth the extra $$. The Redfield is a very good spotter for the money. I have a real cheap Bushnell that I think I gave $60 for fifteen years ago. It's junk compared to the Redfield you're looking at or other scopes in the $200-300 range. I now use a Konus 20-60x 100. It has pretty good resolution for a lower end scope, but not significantly better than the Redfield Rampage that my buddy has. And the Konus is just too darned big and heavy. The huge objective lens catches wind like a sail and shakes continuously if there's a breeze. I'll never get another 100 mm scope again. 60 or 80 would have been plenty good enough.

I've never looked through that particular scope. But I have looked through a few of their riflescopes, and I'd have to say that my opinion of them is low.

I have been quite satisfied with the Vortex Nomad that I bought from Cameraland. They had them on closeout so the price was good too.
