What Savage FACTORY stock most emulates the M40 style stock? Wood or Composite...

I want to build a M40ish stocked SA in 308...which factory wood or composite stock most emulates the M40 design? I have the action but seems like the stock is the sticking point...either ridiculous wait times and nose bleed high prices or they don't support Savage...so being the somewhat skilled craftsman that I ma I think I could build one given a suitable starting place...

I can do some grinding and glassing if need be but I seem to remember a wood stock that was very similar but cannot find a pic of it now...

Take a look at boyds tacticool. Its just been released fairly recently for savage centerfire actions. Its probably what youre talking about as its a wood laminate $99. I know you said factory though.

I guess the starting point to select a stock would depend on which action (center feed/stagger feed) and features such as which magazine you want to use.

Are you looking for the original M40A1 or the M40A2 through A5 McMillan style stocks?

This is what I was talking about, first good picture I've found of one. At least as close to an HTG as the B&C in my opinion.
