View Full Version : Higher Grade Wood Stock Recommendations

After ordering a LA stainless FLHSS 6.5-284 for a Shilen build, I am having second thoughts about removing the barrel but rather building the 284 on the Savage varmint action instead.
I am toying with the idea of grabbing a high grade wood stock and finishing it out for the 116 to use as a basic hunting rifle.
If any of you have any ideas or pics, I would be most grateful.

114 American Classic stock in LH from Numrich would be an easy swap and look incredible.

I am actually looking for a higher grade wood stock that I can stain and finish out myself: I love wood working:cool: I know Boyds makes a wood replacement stock but I would prefer something other than Boyds.

Richards microfit also has nice wood in lots of different styles.

Since your wanting to do the work yourself Richards is a good bet. Rifle-stocks.com

Thanks for the links. I think Russo rifle stocks is exactly what I am looking for but he is not accepting new orders at this time:confusion:
