Looking for a 22 cal rifle for varmint hunting, and came upon a brand new never fired 'Savage Model 954' on a gun listing site. I asked the seller what he knows about it and he says that's its never been fired and its a model 954 (from what the box says) now, I decided to do some research and can't seem to find anything on this gun. He says he got it around 1998 and is selling it for about 130$. Does anyone have any opinions on this gun or any background? Cause I can't find anything.

Here is a thread I found here on it, also has a link to a youtube video on tear down.

I read a couple of other postings when I did a google search for ya, word seems to be they are decent lil' plinking guns.

Awesome thanks. So does that mean that the model 62/64 and this 954 have interchangable parts? Cause im finding no after market accessories or any oem accessories except for the occassional magazine and trigger part

I have no experience with the 954, but here is a link to the parts list for the 954 on Numerich's web page. They are showing the 954, 62, and 64 as using the same schematic so if that's true then yes they seem to be interchangeable. Again I am basing those assumptions from Numerich's webpage and I have absolutely positively no experience with the 954, 62, or 64.
