Savage smith book?

Yup this site is the best I know of in that respect. Reading the "Savage FAQ" section is a great start.

There are only two people whom I know of that I could say have enough first hand knowledge and hands on experience with the Savage 110 to be qualified to write an in depth and detailed book about them, and that's Bob Greenleaf and Fred Moreo. Bob's in his late 80's or early 90's now and has written a couple of articles on the history of the 110 for Precision Shooting magazine (which can be found here (http://www.savageshooters.com/content.php?105-The-Savage-Model-110-Rifle) on this website). I imagine if he had any intention of doing a detailed book he would have done so by now.

Fred has been collecting notes on Savage 110's and talking about doing a book for as long as I've known him, but two things keep him from getting it done. The first is the fact that Savage keeps changing things which means that's more he has to learn and document, and the second is just a matter of finding the time to sit down and do it. At this point I think he's decided to save it so he'll have something to do in his retirement years.
