Anybody have any load advice for the 75 grain Amax? I'm planning to shoot it in a 1-8" 22-250AI. I've come across a few posts where guys say RL22 works well, but haven't seen anything about seatting depth. Anyone have an opinion about jumpping or jamming the bullets? Just looking for a little info to get me going in the right direction.

Thanks John

I seat mine to leave a slight mark on my bullet if I unchamber a round. Do not have a way to measure it other than this. I have good luck with RL22 powder or IMR 4350 powder. I tried them with a jump to the lands but the slight jam is more effective for me. 3300-3400 fps has worked best so far.

What charge weights are you using for those two powders?

38.3gr of IMR4350 and 39.5 to 40gr of RL22, neither load seems to be a max charge but be careful with your own gun.

On my 22-250 ai 8 tw brux barrel i used rl 17 38.3 grs starting up to 41 grs max with the 75 gr amax with two nodes shooting 1 /2" at 200 yrds
38.6 and 40.2 with a col. of 2.585

Hey thanks RHH, I have a pound of RL17 sitting on the shelf that I had planned to use in a std. 22-250, but never got around to it. Do you have any velocity data on your loads? Are you shooting varmints with the 75gr Amax? I plan to use mine on rockchucks here in Central Washington.

on my old chony they showed about 3360 on the bottom and 3500 at the top but i dont feel those are accurate numbers i have since purchased a nother brand of chony which show about 200 fps slower on some different loads which i feel matches drop at different ranges better i plan to go back and compare some more
also the 75 amaxs i am useing are coated with ws2 so my pressures are lower than naked bullets
remember start low and watch for presher signs
