Iron sights for mark II BTVSs

My rifle has weaver scope mounts, on which I have a scope mounted...I was wondering if anyone has any info on weather one can put iron sights on this particular rifle? If so any info would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of weaver mount ghost rings or peep sights on rear and drilled and tapped mount on front. Any help or advice?

For a front mount, you can take a look at airforce air guns (try PyramydAir) and check out their front sight as one option.

An easy option for the rear is www.tech-sights.com, they offer a M14-style adjustable sight that sits on the rear mount holes of Savage Mark II.
