Just got a new Criterion bull barrel in a 260 AI and would like to install a nice/efficient muzzle brake on it. I would like some ideas from my fellow shooting aficionados.
Below is a link to the specifications for this barrel.

Not personally, but a friend has one and swears it's the best he's ever seen, both in performance and finish quality.

Note that he will only accept the barrel, without an action attached.

I have one of these on my long range rig. It is nice and effective

I also have one of these on a 300. It is a little more tactical but very effective

Bajeep...they look awesome. I like the killer innovations one. However they say outside diameter is .980 and my bull barrel outside diameter is 1.000 if I am not mistaken. Would that be a problem? Do they have to be timed?

Actually it would I think it would look really good on there. Look at the contact info on the site and give Rick a call he is a great guy and will take care of you. The quality of his stuff is top notch. If you had the end of the barrel contoured to the brake when it was installed it would look perfect. Yes it needs timed

I have a Harrell's Precision Tactical brake at the shop being installed on the 7mag. Look and finish is great. Will see how well it functions soon, the reviews I read were as good as any and better than most. You do have to make sure that the alignment is correct when the threads bottom. Makes a difference....grinz. Good luck.

When the gunsmith installs the break do they drill the exit hole to match the caliber bullet you shoot (actually slightly larger) or the brakes have a standard exit hole?

The one that is on my long range hunting rifle is only offered in 22 cal. It is designed for the smith to open it up to desired caliber when they install it

I've had several of Ross's brakes. They work fantastic. His work is top notch and fast turnaround.

Best brake and installation for the $$$. Bar none.

Usually .020 over your bullet . . . Example, 308 would be bored open to .328

Thank you Dennis. I know you know a lot about barrels...please tell me what is the difference (besides the obvious 2 inches...LOL)between a 30" barrel and a 28" barrel. Why would I want a longer barrel vs a shorter one. Most bench rest people appear go for longer barrels. Also, my friend just got a 308 put together by Red Hawk and he settled for the only barrel they had in stock...I think a 20". We shoot longer ranges( up to a 1000 yds), so how is that shorter barrel going to stack up against a longer one. I guess I am appealing to your expertise as I always want to learn. Thank you.
