Just wanted to say how much I like my new McGowan bbl. I spotted it on their site (in stock) and could not be any more pleased.
It's a SS 6.5 TCU 24". Savage taper and it went on a brand new SS Axis. Although it has < 12 rounds on it, it's gonna be a shooter. I really enjoy this little ctg and also have a TC 14" in this caliber.

They are great barrels, I have a bull in .223 and it's half minute of angle. Only break in I did was cleaning after 20 rounds a couple of times. Now at 250 and have not cleaned it again.

Curious what bullet, load and velocity you see from 6.5 TCU...

I have a Contender carbine in 6 TCU that is scary accurate. I've wanted to put together a repeater in same cartridge for a coyote rifle. One day I'll stumble across the "right" donor rifle and that will start the ball rolling. I can't bring myself to pull apart my Stevens 223, it just shoots too good as is.

But I'm thinking 22" heavy sporter bbl and a aftermarket stock with detachable AR-type magazine and Duracoat cammo....

oohhhhh yeah...
