I just received a 223 Stevens barrel I bought on another site. It was bought as unused take off and my plan at that time I did not care about the finish.

Well, things change. This barrel has an excellent finish on it and appears to be new. But, I think the finish is parkerized. Looks good tho. lol

Anyway, my question is if the Stevens 200 barrels ever came with anything other than a blue or SS finish. Not even sure about the SS. Has this barrel been refinished?

Has this barrel been refinished?

Probably not. The light weight hunter I have and the newer stevens barrels have the same "parkerized" looking finish.

Thank wbm. That is the info I was looking for. It looks brand new. My seller said it was blue, but it sure isn't. lol

Some folks consider that finish "blued". It's just a bead blasted black oxide finish. Cheaper process.

Take a look at the muzzle. If it's like mine, it should be fairly smooth with what appears to be a conventional hot blue/black finish. The rest of the barrel shows the rough texture of a bead blasting. On my barrel from a Steven 200 .223 REM, it appears that Savage protected the muzzle while bead blasting the barrel before hot blue/blacking.
