So has anyone bought and installed one of the Boyds stocks on a 16FSS 300wsm weather warrior? My concern is, will I have to shave the barrel channel to fit the magnum? Or are they plug and play. I do plan on contacting them directly (wish they had an email service), but wanted some feedback here first. Any thoughts?

I have a featherweight thumbhole on a 6.5 Swede with a varmint contour Shaw barrel. I widened the barrel channel using sandpaper and a large deep socket. The tops of the edges of the forend are very narrow, but it still looks good...at least to my eyes.

Just ordered a Boyds heavy varmint stock for a 7mm Practical wildcat that I am building on a 116FSS. How much bedding work can I expect to need to do? I got the heavy varmint stock because I plan on a bull bbl. in the future & I should have enough wood to open the bbl. channel for it.My first wildcat, wish me luck. Thanks paul

I just bought the same stock for a 14 300 wsm and the barrel fits in perfect while still free floating.

Got my Boyd's heavy varmint thumbhole stock. Received it about 4 days after I ordered it! Excellent service, lady on the phone knew exactly what I needed even knew about the type of finish, because I'm short w/smallhands &fat fingers needed to do some MINOR fitting. Now I'm going to shorten the length/pull 1/2in. Great co. to deal with! Paul
