No, the only possible way to adjust it would be to make it shorter, and that could be done with grinding it down.

So if I recontour the firing pin tip to stop primer flow around it I could grind on the back of the bolthead to compensate.
Not sure I'm asking right, but on my other Savages I recontour, adjust and primer cratering almost disappears.

How far does the firing pin protrude now?

Typically the factory protrusion is around .055", which would give you plenty of room to re-contour the tip. I wouldn't make it shorter than .035" protrusion.

I wouldn't go much less than .045 personally. If you do you're asking for uneven ignition and possible light strikes/misfires if the conditions are right or a primer is seated just a bit too deep. Unless your firing pin protrudes more than about .060 I wouldn't mess with it. A friend of mine had a Ruger M77 that was getting misfires occasionally in cold weather, and his firing pin was protruding .043". He put in a new firing pin that measured .050" protrusion and the problem vanished.

IIRC, some of the newer 10/110 rifles have a newer, different style of firing pin that is not as adjustable as the older style.
